Cosmic Abilities
All that is known about cosmic abilities is the fact they stem from the soul and its connection to the surrounding cosmos. These abilities are beyond the understanding of 3rd dimensional entities, however, may still be utilized and even mastered by the lesser entities.
Typically, only entities of the 4th dimension and beyond are capable of mastering cosmic abilities. Few special entities of the 3rd dimension variety are able; humans, eldiravan, fleebeeron, and ardrizi.
In order for one of the capable 3rd dimensional entities to acquire these cosmic abilities, one must master its own spirituality and reconnect to the cosmos. Only via this connection may one harness the cosmic energies around it. This may be done by a Soul Pilgrimage.
The Soul Pilgrimage
A Soul Pilgrimage is conducted by a 4th dimensional entity, or by an ascended 3rd dimensional entity. A piece of their own soul must be gifted and this is done via a liquid substance such as blood.
Sustenance is recommended to increase the survival rating of the pilgrim. An extra soul may be given to the vessel of the pilgrim to give their own soul the strength to pass the trials within.
The pilgrim is meant to take a deep look into itself, facing down its own ego. It must learn to let go of what is holding it back in order to reach the eye of the storm and realize inner peace.
Oftentimes, the conductor of the pilgrimage may assist as a guide to the pilgrim through its own soul.
Upon failure to reach its inner sanctuary, the pilgrim will lose its soul to the chaotic energies around and its vessel will become a soulless ghoul forever starving and searching for food.
Upon success, the pilgrim will awaken, often in a violent ghoul-like state that must be calmed down. There is much to adjust to with a new view on life and its own existence, but the pilgrim will slowly change physically and spiritually over time.
Ascension / Evolution
One a pilgrim succeeds its pilgrimage, it will return to its vessel and continue to grow. At its core, it is still a 3rd dimensional entity, though its new connection to the cosmos allows it to access the surrounding cosmic energy.
These abilities manifest over time as evolutionary traits to the vessel. As the vessel goes through trauma, its body adapts and overcomes by evolving needed traits.
Death
A vessel is simply that. Without a soul, it is a lifeless husk. Ascended 3rd dimensional entities may be considered immortal, in the traditional sense.
The vessel’s of the ascended may experience death, but their vessels naturally heal, allowing the soul to revitalize the vessel.
Removal of the soul from the vessel kills the vessel.
Returning the soul to an empty vessel, be it the soul’s original or a new one, the lifeless husk will revitalize.
Birth
No 3rd dimensional entity is born with an established connection to the cosmos.
A 3rd dimensional entity that has 2 ascended biological parents may show cosmic abilities as young as a few weeks old, however, such abilities are not often seen until puberty or without severe trauma.
These cosmic abilities will match the biological parents’ and can cause terrible harm to the young 3rd dimensional entity and those around it. They must not only learn to control their abilities, but must ascend to maintain this control, else they risk turning into a starving ghoul within a year after showing the first sign of cosmic ability.
3rd dimensional entities with only 1 ascended biological parent have only a 40% chance of inheriting cosmic abilities.
Abilities
Cosmic abilities are adapted as evolutionary traits depending upon specific traumas involving the vessel or learned from mentors.
Evolution is NOT the only way to utilize cosmic energy.
A 3rd dimensional entity with a connection to the cosmos may attempt to contact and ask a deity for a favor. This may be done by way of prayer and is often accompanied with offerings and/or sacrifices. Many entities use special plants to help gain a connection to the cosmos albeit for as long as the drugs are in effect.
Favors may be as simple as needing the willpower to keep marching forward or as complex as erecting mountains.
Cosmic Energies
There are two types of cosmic energies; chaotic and orderly.
One may not exist without the other, at least it has never been known to be so.
Chaotic
Chaotic energy is often dark, untameable, and cold. It is said to be responsible for all things wild, violent, aggressive, and dominating.
Chaotic entities, souls made of chaotic energy, are often depicted as evil and wicked monsters when in reality they are simply surviving the only way they know how.
E.g.: alpha hunters, eos, humans, eldiravan, and ardrizi are chaotic entities.
Orderly
Orderly energy is often light, contained, and warm. It is said to be responsible for justice, law, and peace.
Orderly entities, souls made of Orderly energy, are often depicted as good, noble angels, when they are a simple folk leading purposeful lives.
E.g.: venators, humans, fleebeeron, and verbenass are orderly entities.
Hybrids
In some cases an entity’s soul may comprise both orderly and chaotic energies. Entity’s with an orderly soul may be corrupted by a chaotic one; intentionally or by being near a chaotic soul for too long. Chaotic souls may also be infected by an orderly one by being near or intentionally so.
E.g.: characters such as Usarak and Jackal.
Deities
Cosmic deities are 4th dimensional, or above, entities. They have mastered control of cosmic energy and are godly in the eyes of lower dimensional entities.
These deities are surprisingly well known among many 3rd dimensional entities since they have interacted over the course of hundreds of thousands of years.
Souls / Reincarnation
Souls are transcendible cosmic energy. They have no physical form and are intangible under normal means. They may be forced into a physical state by an ascended entity or a powerful soul where they are trapped forever as a glasslike orb.
Within this orb state, a soul is harmless. It is imprisoned essentially and may be subjected to various 3rd dimensional use, soul as generating power, reviving a deceased vessel, information gathering, or as most commonly used, to increase another soul’s strength and to evolve a soul’s vessel.
Since souls are nothing more than cosmic energy themselves, hence being able to connect to the cosmos at hand, they are considered immortal. A soul itself can never truly die after all. Even when it is consumed, a soul is broken down and added to the consuming soul. While a strong enough soul may be able to choose traits to add and toss others away, most cannot and will gain more than a simple ability. They may gain memories, habits, traits, emotions, etc. from the other soul.
A soul that is not consumed and is instead torn apart and taken by the cosmic winds, may never be fully put back together. Soul fragments gravitate towards one another though they each experience a natural pull to their corresponding fragments.
A soul may be able to prolong its vessel’s physical life, however, they will often be let go and replaced upon their passing. Ancient souls will inhabit artificial shells to avoid the forced act of reincarnation.
Without proper assistance and means, a soul is taken by cosmic wind far from its deceased vessel. It must attach to a vessel wherever it can be in another dimension or simply another planet or region.
A soul can be assisted into a new and closer vessel by way of energy manipulation usually involving multiple entities or by a single powerful entity.
Offerings / Sacrifices
While it is possible for a deity to be charitable enough to respond to a lesser's call for help without an offering, many will not even turn an ear without some form of payment.
Some Orderly deities will jump to action at the cry for help. Others require simple offerings that are easy to get. Many Orderly deities wish to see an honest effort to help oneself with a willingness to self-sacrifice.
Chaotic deities rarely if ever cast a favor without an offering. Many require some form of blood or flesh sacrifice, while others may be sated with services or souls.
Herbs and Plants
Any psychoactive plant may assist a 3rd dimensional entity in establishing a temporary connection to the cosmos.
The type of connection established varies depending on the specific plant. These connections may produce positive experiences or negative experiences. Some plants may even produce specific connections to distant locations and entities even across dimensions.
